^^This was exactly my Rabbi's reaction when I asked about kashrut restrictions for the new job 😆
We're a Reform syngogue, and the number of member-families who actually keep kosher at home can probably be counted on one hand. I am not one of those, and during the meeting in which we hashed out hiring basics (hours, tax stuff, etc.), I asked about our kashrut policies on Temple property so that I would know what to pack for lunch every day.
Officially, we do not mix meat and dairy on the same serving dish on Temple property.
But Rabbi, knowing that I don't keep kosher and being the coolest and chillest person in the world, jokingly mentioned that she didn't know anything in the laws that said I couldn't have a roll of deli meat in one hand and a slice of cheese in the other and alternate bites.
One day I may test this, but for now I'm going to play it safe and keep my work lunches all dairy or all meat 😆
